Sacred Lines: An Introduction to Islamic Calligraphy

Embark on a mesmerizing journey into the world of Islamic calligraphy as Tarbiya Institute hosts: “Sacred Lines: An Introduction to Islamic Calligraphy." Led by Master Calligrapher Khalid Casado, this one-day workshop will introduce you to the rich heritage of Islamic calligraphy, the traditional tools and methods of the art, and the fundamentals of writing this elegant script.

This class offers a unique opportunity to deepen your appreciation and practice of Islamic calligraphy and is open to all skill levels, beginners included. Under Ustadh Khalid's guidance, students will have ample time to practice writing Islamic calligraphy using traditional writing materials.

Khalid Casado was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, and spent several years studying calligraphy in Istanbul. He received his calligraphy ijazah (certification) in 2014 for the Thuluth and Naskh scripts, after spending several years studying under some of the greatest masters of our time, including Hasan Elebi, Ferhat Kurlu, and Nuria Garcia.
